Anytime Fitness Musashi-Koganei Review|30 Seconds from the Station, Room to Breathe

店舗レビュー

Thirty seconds from Musashi-Koganei Station on the JR Chuo Line.

The gym spans the second and third floors of a building directly beside the station — machines and facilities on two, cardio equipment and free weights on three.

The third floor free weight space feels generous for a station-adjacent location on the Chuo Line. Four Smith machines, four adjustable benches, and a water server. The gym was not crowded during the visit, allowing a comfortable pace throughout. Musashi-Koganei itself is a calm, well-kept neighborhood without the noise of busier station areas. A public bathhouse nearby makes for a natural post-training stop. A personal visit to a nearby temple added a quieter note to the day.

One of the stronger Chuo Line options for those who prioritize free weight space and station access together.

Access

Thirty seconds from Musashi-Koganei Station’s South Exit on the JR Chuo Line. The gym occupies the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building directly outside the station. The 2nd floor handles reception, machines, showers, and toilets. The 3rd floor is where the free weights area opens up — more space than the station-front location would suggest.

Facilities & Atmosphere

Two-floor layout. The 3rd floor free weights area is the highlight — generously sized for a Chuo Line gym this close to the station. Smith/power rack stations: 4. Adjustable benches: 4. The combination of space and equipment count makes for a comfortable training environment.

The machine brand pairing of Life Fitness and TORQUE covers the full range of training needs. Water server available and functioning well.

What stands out most is the absence of that compressed feeling common to many Chuo Line gyms. The 3rd floor in particular has enough space to move freely between stations — a quality that’s harder to find than it should be along this corridor.

How Busy Does It Get?

Not particularly crowded. For a station-front Chuo Line gym, that’s worth noting. Four benches available without extended waiting. The two-floor layout helps distribute traffic naturally — those doing cardio tend to stay on the 2nd floor, leaving the 3rd floor free weights area relatively open.

The Surrounding Area

Musashi-Koganei is quiet without being remote. The neighborhood has the calm, settled character of a place where people actually live long-term — not a transit hub, but a place with its own rhythm. The area around the station has everything needed for daily life without the noise of busier Chuo Line stops.

A walk toward Mitaka after training makes for a pleasant route. The streets are easy and unhurried.

Overall

Thirty seconds from the station. Spacious 3rd floor. Four benches. Water server. Low crowds.

For the Chuo Line, this gym punches above its weight in terms of space and usability. No body composition scale is the one notable gap, but everything else is in order. A reliable gym in a quietly livable neighborhood.

The pilgrimage continues.
