Directly outside the south exit of Ogikubo Station on the JR Chuo Line.
The gym occupies the second and third floors of a three-story building — a layout that captures the compressed feel typical of Chuo Line locations.
Weight stack machines and free weights share the second floor, with the gym running at a steady pace throughout the visit. The crowding is consistent with the station proximity. The overall impression sits closer to the Nishi-Ogikubo location than to the more spacious suburban gyms further along this pilgrimage — functional, accessible, but not particularly memorable. The surrounding area, however, delivers well on food and atmosphere, with a lively shopping street and numerous dining options within easy walking distance.
A gym defined more by its location than its interior. Ogikubo itself remains the stronger draw.

Access
A four-minute walk from the south exit of Ogikubo Station on the JR Chuo Line. In terms of access, the location is excellent and easy to reach.
Facilities & Atmosphere
The gym occupies the second and third floors of a three-story building, with weight-stack machines and a free-weight area on the second floor. The floor space is on the tight side, very much in keeping with the compact gyms found along the Chuo Line. Because the station is close, it sees a fair amount of traffic, and the overall impression is similar to the nearby Nishiogi branch. Serious lifters are uncommon here, and the gym is functional rather than memorable.
How Busy Does It Get?
Given its proximity to the station, the gym draws a steady stream of users, and it can feel cramped at peak times. Choosing an off-peak hour is advisable for a more comfortable session.
The Surrounding Area
This is where Ogikubo shines. The district is well supplied with restaurants and a shopping street, making it pleasant to walk around and genuinely comfortable to live in. The atmosphere is shared with the nearby Kamiogi area, and the whole district ranks among the more livable in this part of Tokyo. Ogikubo Station itself offers excellent transport connections, making the gym a convenient stop when changing lines or running errands in the area.
Overall
As a gym, Anytime Fitness Ogikubo is unremarkable: standard equipment and a relatively tight space typical of the Chuo Line. There is little to single it out on its facilities alone. Where it earns its place is location, in one of the most convenient and livable districts in western Tokyo. For visitors already in Ogikubo, it works well as a practical drop-in option rather than a destination worth traveling for.
※ For another gym in the same Ogikubo area, see Anytime Fitness Kamiogi.
The pilgrimage continues.
