Sengawa Station, on the Keio Line.
Step through the ticket gates and the pace of the town seems to slow.
Strollers roll past. Shoppers carry paper bags. Keio Store and Kinokuniya Bookstore fill the station building.
The sounds of everyday life play at just the right volume — a different rhythm from the stations along the Chuo Line.

About 4 minutes on foot from the station, the familiar purple logo stands on the ground floor of an apartment building.
Light spills out through the glass frontage. The gym sits quietly within the streetscape, as though it has always been part of the neighborhood.

Access
From the station, a stone-paved street runs straight ahead.
Bicycles are not allowed here — it is a path for walkers only. Under an overcast sky, the gray paving invites an unhurried pace.

Where the bustle fades, the gym appears. There is little chance of getting lost.
Atmosphere & Equipment
The gym occupies a single square floor. Toward the back are the lockers, showers, restrooms and a tanning machine. The stretching area is generous, with mats laid out by each member.
What stands out first is the sheer density of machines. Selectorized and plate-loaded equipment line up side by side, a frame of black steel filling the floor. Deciding what to train today becomes part of the pleasure here.

For the size of the space, the machine count is high, and the aisles are somewhat narrow as a result. Even so, the floor never feels cramped — the layout shows clear thought.
There are 4 adjustable benches, and the path to the dumbbell area is straightforward. At busier times, a little awareness of others is worthwhile when carrying dumbbells across the floor.
Smith machines and power racks number 3 in total. Combined with the breadth of machines, the lineup leaves little to be desired.
The treadmills face the windows, with white light filtering softly through the roller blinds. Running without a wall directly ahead makes cardio feel noticeably lighter.

An unexpected detail: washbasins in 2 separate locations — one beside the restrooms, the other just before the women-only area.
White tiles and calm lighting make even the few seconds spent washing up after a workout feel pleasant.

Crowd Levels
At the time of the visit, a fair number of members were training, yet no one was waiting for a machine.
Relaxed music drifted through the room. Men and women alike moved at their own rhythm, and no one seemed in a hurry. The calm atmosphere made for a focused, steady session.
Surroundings
After training, a short detour through town is well worth it.
As the voices of the station area fade, a gray wall comes into view: the Tokyo Art Museum. Exposed concrete, marked with neat rows of small holes. Beneath a line of trees, the sidewalk runs straight into the distance.

The name is simply set into the wall — a building that says very little about itself.

A little farther on stands a Kewpie building, its diamond-lattice facade framing the overcast sky. Beside the entrance sits a single egg-shaped booth — the kind of detail that stops a walker in their tracks.
A trip meant only for the gym rarely ends there in an unfamiliar town. Answering the pull of a small detour is part of the pilgrimage, too.

Overall Impressions
A wide choice of machines, a spacious stretching area, and the freedom to train calmly at one’s own pace without waiting. The high machine count leaves the aisles a little tight, yet equipment and comfort sit in good balance.
Together with the walk through Sengawa, this is a gym well worth returning to.
Store number 99. Just 1 more to reach 100.
The pilgrimage continues.
