Anytime Fitness Musashi-Koyama Review|A Gym Worth Choosing for the Neighborhood

店舗レビュー

Three minutes on foot from Musashi-Koyama Station on the Tokyo Metro Meguro Line.

A Seven-Eleven occupies the ground floor. Anytime Fitness is on the second.

The floor is small — among the most compact on this pilgrimage. Two Smith machines, two adjustable benches, and a basic equipment lineup that covers essentials without much room to spare. Full training sessions are difficult to complete here. That said, the Musashi-Koyama shopping arcade running outside is one of the more lively and well-maintained in the city, with regular community events and a strong local character. An evening visit combined with a walk through the arcade makes for a worthwhile trip even if the gym itself is limited.

The neighborhood outperforms the gym. Sometimes that is enough.

Access

A three-minute walk from Musashi-Koyama Station on the Tokyu Meguro Line. The gym sits on the second floor of a building with a 7-Eleven on the ground level, right within the local shopping arcade. The location is easy to reach and convenient to fold into a shopping trip.

Facilities & Atmosphere

The gym is genuinely small. With two Smith/rack stations and two benches, the setup covers only the basics and is not suited to a heavy training session. The machines are PRECOR and the equipment itself is decent, but the limited floor space is the defining constraint here.

How Busy Does It Get?

Because the space is so compact, it fills up quickly once a few people arrive, and waiting for equipment is likely at busier times. Later in the evening appears to be the best window for a quieter session.

The Surrounding Area

This is where Musashi-Koyama stands out. The Musashi-Koyama Palm shopping arcade is one of the longest covered shopping streets in Tokyo, lively and frequently hosting events. The neighborhood is appealing enough that the walk through the arcade can feel like more of a draw than the workout itself.

Overall

As a gym, Anytime Fitness Musashi-Koyama is cramped and minimally equipped, and it is hard to recommend on training facilities alone. Its real appeal lies in the surrounding neighborhood, particularly the shopping arcade, which makes it a natural choice for an evening drop-in on the way home or after running errands. For visitors staying in the area, this is a gym chosen for the district rather than the equipment, and on those terms it works well.

The pilgrimage continues.
