Anytime Fitness Meguro Review|A Central Gym That Comes at a Premium

店舗レビュー

One minute from the west exit of Meguro Station.

The access is as good as it gets. What follows through the door is a different story.

The floor is cramped, the gym runs busy, and the absence of windows affects both air quality and atmosphere. The water server is present but the water quality is noticeably poor. The InBody scale requires a fee of 300 yen per use. A sandbag hangs in the corner, unused by anyone during the visit — its purpose unclear. The membership skews toward serious trainers and appearance-conscious visitors, which fits the Meguro neighborhood profile.

Location this strong rarely comes without trade-offs. This gym makes those trade-offs visible.

Access

A one-minute walk from the West Exit of Meguro Station, served by the JR Yamanote Line, Tokyu Meguro Line, and Tokyo Metro Namboku Line. The location is about as convenient as it gets, making the gym an easy stop after work or during a lunch break. For anyone who prioritizes proximity to a major station, it is hard to beat.

Facilities & Atmosphere

The gym occupies a single floor and is, frankly, on the cramped side. There are four water dispensers and an InBody scale available for ¥300 per use, along with a punching bag that, on the day of the visit, sat entirely unused. There are almost no windows, and the air can feel heavy after a longer session. The water from the dispensers was unremarkable, which is a small detail but one that tends to stick. The equipment itself is solid, but the limited space holds it back.

How Busy Does It Get?

Given the Meguro location, the gym draws a steady crowd. The regulars skew toward serious lifters, and the overall atmosphere carries a certain intensity. It is not the kind of place that invites a relaxed, unhurried workout, though that may suit those who prefer a focused environment.

The Surrounding Area

Meguro is a convenient and popular district, with no shortage of restaurants, shops, and offices nearby. The energy of the area is constant, which makes it lively but also somewhat relentless. For visitors looking to combine a workout with dining or shopping, the location delivers, though it offers little in the way of a quiet post-training walk.

Overall

Anytime Fitness Meguro is well located and reasonably equipped, and its popularity is easy to understand. The drawback is the price: at ¥9,680 per month, it sits at the higher end of the Anytime range, and the size and facilities do not quite justify that premium. It functions well as a convenient option for those already in the area, but it is not a destination gym worth traveling out of the way for. For visitors staying near Meguro who need a central place to train, it does the job, provided the monthly cost is not a concern.

The pilgrimage continues.
