Anytime Fitness Akigawa Review|Far from the Station, but Spacious and Easy by Car

店舗レビュー

Ten minutes on foot from Akigawa Station on the JR Itsukaichi Line.

The distance from central Tokyo is substantial. That is the first and most important thing to know about this location.

The gym itself is spacious and consistently uncrowded — a direct result of its remoteness. Three adjustable benches, two Smith machines, and an open floor that feels unhurried at any time of day. No water server, but the quiet more than compensates. The surrounding area carries a distinctly rural character, a reminder that Tokyo extends well beyond its central wards. A walk along the Itsukaichi Line after training offers a change of pace that is hard to find closer to the city.

Far from everything. Peaceful because of it.

Access

The gym is a 10-minute walk from Akigawa Station on the JR Itsukaichi Line. The distance from the station is real, but with 23 dedicated parking spaces on hand, arriving by car is a genuinely practical option here.

Facilities & Atmosphere

The interior is spacious, and the gym was quiet during the visit. Equipment includes three adjustable benches and three Smith machines. The lineup is fairly modest, but the generous space keeps the experience from ever feeling cramped.

How Busy Does It Get?

The gym was quiet, making for a stress-free training environment.

The Surrounding Area

The distance from the station makes this an easy choice for locals, though it’s a bigger ask for anyone coming from further away. Set well outside central Tokyo, the area offers a reminder that there’s plenty of city beyond the 23 wards.

Overall

The distance from the station is the main drawback, but 23 dedicated parking spaces make this a workable option for anyone arriving by car. The interior is spacious, and the gym was quite empty during the visit.

It’s an easy pick for locals, though the location asks a bit more of anyone coming from farther away. Still, it’s a good reminder that this kind of open, suburban space exists well beyond central Tokyo.

The pilgrimage continues.
