Anytime Fitness Araiyakushi Review|Every Bench Taken, the Most Crowded Gym So Far

店舗レビュー

Two minutes from Araiyakushimae Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line.

Among all the locations visited on this pilgrimage, few run as consistently busy as this one.

The gym occupies the second floor of a two-story building, drawing a membership that skews toward university students and young professionals. Benches were fully occupied throughout the visit, with waits extending longer than at most other locations. The floor itself is reasonably sized and well-maintained, but the demand consistently outpaces the available equipment. No water server is available. Training at your own pace requires patience and timing. The surrounding area feels more urban than other points along the Seibu line, with a livelier street character than stations further out.

A gym where the location works against the experience. Peak hour visits require advance planning.

Facilities

Private showers, a private changing room, Wi-Fi, a body composition scale, a personal trainer, and a protein bar are all available. Bicycle parking, an AED, contracted lockers with availability, and free access for high school students round out the offering.

There is no water server and no car parking. The gym occupies the second floor of a two-story building, with a generous five benches on hand.

Access

A 2-minute walk from Araiyakushimae Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line. The convenience of being so close to the station seemed to come with a downside: it also brought in a large number of users.

Atmosphere and Equipment

The gym itself is reasonably spacious and clean, with a crowd that looked to be mostly college students or office workers, plenty of them at any given time.

Despite having five benches, every single one was occupied during the visit, and the wait didn’t clear up even after a while. Of all the gyms visited so far on this pilgrimage, this level of crowding was genuinely rare, and training at one’s own pace turned out to be a real challenge. There’s also no water server here.

Crowding

With every bench occupied and no signs of one freeing up, the crowding at this gym stood out as the most intense encountered on the pilgrimage so far. Training comfortably here means choosing the time of visit carefully.

Surrounding Area

Walking along the Seibu Line from Araiyakushimae, the atmosphere grows noticeably more urban, with plenty of lively spots nearby. For a station along this line, the area feels relatively city-like.

Overall Review

The gym itself is spacious and clean, but the crowding here overshadows everything else. Every bench occupied with no real chance of one opening up is a level of congestion rarely seen elsewhere on this pilgrimage, making it genuinely difficult to train at a comfortable pace.

The convenience of being so close to the station seems to be exactly what drives the crowding in the first place. There may be room to reconsider if visiting during quieter hours, but as things stand, this gym ends up with a lower score than most.

The pilgrimage continues.
