Anytime Fitness Shimoigusa Review|A Multi-Floor Gym That Feels Like a Theme Park

店舗レビュー

Ten seconds from the south exit of Shimoigusa Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line.

Step outside and it is right there — three floors of Anytime Fitness occupying the second, third, and fourth levels of the building.

This is a Hammer Strength certified location. Six Smith machines and power racks, five adjustable benches, a water server, a body composition scale, and a coworking space on the second floor with seating for two. The floors serve different purposes: cardio and reception on two, beginner-friendly machines on three, and free weights with plate-loaded equipment on four. With equipment spread across three levels, waiting is rarely an issue even when the gym is busy.

Finding a facility of this scale on the Seibu Shinjuku Line was unexpected. It earns every point of its score.

Access

A 1-minute walk from Shimoigusa Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line — practically right outside the ticket gates. Among all the gyms visited on this pilgrimage, this ranks among the very best for access. The surrounding area is a quiet residential neighborhood with good everyday convenience.

Facilities & Atmosphere

This gym spans three floors (2F, 3F, 4F) of a standalone building — an unusual layout that sets it apart from most Anytime Fitness locations.

2F houses the reception, showers, toilets, treadmills, and a co-working space with desks and chairs where phone calls are permitted. It’s hard to tell whether you’ve walked into a gym or an office.

3F features weight-stack machines suited for beginners, with a spacious layout that never feels cramped.

4F is a different world entirely. A dedicated free weights area with plate-loaded machines, racks, and Smith machines — built for serious lifters. The atmosphere changes the moment you step off the stairs.

This location is a certified Hammer Strength gym, with top-tier equipment across the board.

How Busy Does It Get?

There are always people here, but with 6 Smith/rack stations and 5 benches spread across multiple floors, waiting is rarely an issue. The multi-floor layout naturally distributes users, making it feel less crowded than the numbers might suggest.

The Surrounding Area

After the workout, a walk along the Seibu Line. The scenery is a little flat — not the most inspiring stretch for a post-gym stroll. But the station-front convenience more than makes up for it.

Overall

Three floors. Hammer Strength certified. Co-working space. Water server. Six rack stations.

This isn’t just a gym — it’s a training complex. Among 62 locations visited so far, this stands alongside Tama Center as a top-tier destination. If you’re looking for a serious workout near the Seibu Shinjuku Line, this is the one.

The pilgrimage continues.
