Two minutes on foot from Sunagawa-Nanaban Station on the Tama Monorail.
A standalone building on a main road, with a layout that runs long and deep from the entrance.
Free weights on the right upon entry, weight stack machines on the left, with some plate-loaded equipment mixed in. Three adjustable benches, three Smith machines and power racks, a wide stretching area with mats, and a ladder for agility training — an unusual addition for a gym of this type. The lighting gives the interior a slightly dim atmosphere, but the equipment selection is solid throughout. A community project studio sign near the gym suggested a neighbourhood with some local energy behind it. Tachikawa and Showa Memorial Park are within easy reach for post-training walks.
A well-equipped stop on the Tama Monorail that deserves more recognition.

Facilities & Atmosphere
A standalone building. The interior is narrow but deep, and feels more spacious than expected, with the look of a paid roadside gym along a major street. The stretching area is generous and matted, and right next to it sits an unmarked matted space whose purpose wasn’t entirely clear, possibly meant for dance practice.
Further back, a training ladder was set up, the kind of equipment rarely seen at an Anytime Fitness. It was enough to stop and take a second look. The right side of the entrance holds the free weight area, while the left side has weight-stack machines, with a few plate-loaded machines mixed in. There are three adjustable benches and three Smith/power rack stations combined.
The machine count is solid enough that waits are uncommon. Lighting is a bit dim in places, and a bit more storage space for bags would be welcome.
How Busy Does It Get?
The gym wasn’t particularly crowded during the visit. With enough machines on hand, waits are rare, making it easy to train at your own pace.
The Surrounding Area
Izumi Gymnasium, a reasonably sized sports facility, sits nearby for anyone looking for activities beyond weight training. A short walk brings you to restaurants, and both Tachikawa and Showa Kinen Park are within walking distance, making for a pleasant post-workout stroll. The monorail also makes it easy to head a bit farther afield.
A sign for a local project space billed as launching ideas before they’re fully polished was visible nearby, a small hint of the area’s effort to bring some energy to the neighborhood.
Overall
A two-minute walk from the station, paired with the kind of space typical of a standalone location. The standout feature was the training ladder, a piece of equipment rarely found at an Anytime Fitness.
Lighting runs a little dim, but the machine count is solid and waits are minimal. Good access combined with easy walks to Tachikawa and Showa Kinen Park make this a well-balanced location overall.
The pilgrimage continues.
